Teenage Victim in Pontiac Shooting Dies of Injuries, Two Suspects Remain at Large

Pontiac, MI – An 18-year-old man was fatally injured and a second man is in critical condition after a shooting Tuesday evening in Pontiac.
Two males are in custody and Oakland County Sheriff’s Office deputies have identified and are seeking two additional subjects.
“I commend the quick response by our team and the efficient work by our detectives to identify individuals involved,” Sheriff Michael Bouchard said. “Senseless violence destroys far too many lives and as a society, we must find a better path.”
The incident happened shortly at approximately 7:49 p.m. near West South Boulevard and Highland Avenue in Pontiac. Deputies were dispatched on the report of multiple people shot. Upon their arrival, they located the 18-year-old Pontiac man. He was unresponsive with a gunshot wound to his chest. Deputies began life saving measures. Paramedics from the Waterford Regional Fire Department arrived and took over care. The man was transported to the hospital where he died from his injuries.
The second shooting victim, a 19-year-old Pontiac man, was taken to the hospital by a citizen. He was taken into surgery and is expected to survive. Deputies identified a third victim, who was not injured.
Deputies arrested two subjects a short time later. The incident remains under investigation. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK- UP. Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $2,000 for information leading to an arrest in the case. Tipsters remain anonymous.
