Candidate Interview: Sylvia Jordan for Mayor of Southfield

Southfield, MI – In Southfield, voters will be selecting the Mayor, City Clerk, Treasurer, and four City Councilmembers in the Nov. 4, 2025 election.
For Mayor the candidates are Sylvia Jordan and incumbent Kenson Siver.
For Clerk, Gabi Grossbard is on the ballot and there are two write-in candidates: Wynett Ann Guy and Corette Houge.
For Treasurer, Irv Lowenberg is unopposed.
For Council the candidates are Ashanti Bland, Catrina Butler, Stacy Jackson, Gregory Keeler, and incumbents Daniel Brightwell, Yolanda Haynes, and Michael Ari Mandelbaum. The three highest vote-getter will have four year terms, and the fourth highest will get a two year term.
Note: Current Mayor Ken Siver has requested that estimates given by Jordan be clarified. The most recent black population of Southfield is 70.3%. Additionally the number of properties involved in the housing scandal was 138.
