Troy, MI – The City of Troy is hosting their Summer Concert Series at Jeanne M Stine Community Park in the Troy Community Center.

Joey Vee: Country Music
Joey Vee, an American Country Music Artist, started his first band at the age of 18. While in college studying mechanical engineering, he continued performing and writing songs. He frequently travels to Nashville and performed at the CMA Festival 2013-2017. In 2015 Joey was nominated for a Detroit Music Award for “Best Country Vocalist” and nominated in 2017 for “Best Country Song” for “Look at What you’ve Done.” Joey performs regularly, approximately 0-85 shows in Michigan, Canada, and surrounding states. He continues to give back and perform concerts for Veterans in Crisis and Gilda’s Club, who helps people battling cancer. Joey is releasing the long-awaited EP called “American Heart” digitally and plans to release it to Country Radio.

Rhythm Society Orchestra: Big Band Music
The Rhythm Society Orchestra is a 16-piece big band specializing in true vintage swing music. Winning multiple awards, the Rhythm Society re-creates the music of the swing era as authentically as possible, many times matching the popularly recorded versions from the ’30s and ’40s with a good helping of Sinatra and friends from the ’50s. Shaw, Miller, Lunceford, Frank, Tony, Jimmy and Tommy all presented as they were. Re-discover these classic performances with the Rhythm Society Orchestra.

The BackBeats: Beatles Tribute Band
Using authentic instruments, clothing, and hairstyles, The BackBeats will transport us tonight on a Magical Mystery Tour of yesteryear, when the whole world first heard the four names of John, Paul, George and Ringo. The BackBeats are proud to be the only Michigan-based Beatles show to have had sponsorship by both of the major classic rock Detroit radio stations (FM 104.3 and FM 94.7) and also by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland. In 2009, when The Beatles released their highly anticipated video game “Beatles: RockBand”, it was The BackBeats that were hired to represent The Beatles for the release of the game in the Michigan market.

Thornetta Davis: Queen of the Blues
“Detroit’s Queen of Blues” Thornetta Davis is a six-time National Blues Music Award Nominee, including two for the 2021 BMAs for “Best Soul/Blues female and Best instrumentalists/vocals. She is a 2021 Jus’ Blues Foundation Award Recipient, and a 2018 Kresge Fellowship Awardee. Her CD Honest Woman, which she wrote and produced, has won over 30 Detroit Music Awards including eight DMAs in 2017. Thornetta’s live performances will leave you feeling uplifted and asking for more. She is supported by some of the best musicians all hailing from Detroit, MI.
