Royal Oak Woman Accused of Killing Mother

Royal Oak, MI – On Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at approximately 7:40 p.m., Royal Oak officers responded to a request for police assistance in the 3600 block of Crooks Rd. The caller, a 66-year-old resident of Fenton, said her 45-year-old daughter was experiencing a mental health crisis and needed to be taken to the hospital.
Officers arrived and detected signs of a struggle while speaking with the daughter, later identified as Royal Oak resident Jennifer Suzanne Cataldo.
They entered the apartment and found her mother unresponsive on the floor. The victim, identified as Leslie Ann Cataldo, had suffered a life-threatening neck wound and was transported to Corewell Hospital in Royal Oak, where she underwent emergency surgery.
In the late afternoon of June 5, 2025, Leslie Cataldo was pronounced deceased after succumbing to her injuries. Jennifer Cataldo was taken into custody at the scene without incident.
