OC Restaurant Quest: Cedar Grille Mediterranean in Troy

Troy, MI- The quest to try every restaurant in Oakland County continues with a visit to Cedar Grille Mediterranean in Troy. This delicious restaurant features Lebanese and Middle Eastern fare.
For my visit I had the de-boned chicken with almond rice and a side of hummus. The chicken was perfectly seasoned with a delicate texture and a careful presentation that reflects the quality of items. The hummus was creamy and delicious, a perfect match for the hot, fresh-from-the-oven pita bread.
I also had a mango madness smoothie which was sweet and refreshing. While I was waiting for my order the man at the counter was friendly, and the restaurant itself was warm and inviting. Cedar Grille also does catering.
Other menu options include traditional favorites like tomato kibbee, fattouch salad, shish kabob, shish tawook, and kafta harra. Cedar Grille offers up shrimp Liban and shrimp brochette, as well as grilled lamb chops or kabobs. Vegetarians might enjoy the falafel, spinach pie, mujadara, baba, and grape leaves.
For dessert one might enjoy baklava or house-made rice pudding.
According to their website, owner Camilia Salah grew up in Lebanon where her mother prepared meals with vegetables from their garden. “I was reminiscing about Mom and my homeland, so I decided to tap into the gifts she gave me and was inspired to open what is now Cedar Grille. We selected our chef, who cooked for the president of Lebanon, and he recreated the same dishes with a passion and flavor that took me back to my Mother’s recipes and the country I love,” Salah said. “Now I am able to share these same meals with you and your families. and welcome new memories to be made with you. My extended family, to continue the tradition of sharing fresh quality food with wonderful people.”
