May 28 – Ferndale District-Wide Art Show at Ferndale Library
Ferndale, MI – Glimpse the future of local art this month at the Ferndale Library, when some of the best works by students from across the Ferndale school district will be on display for a special Student Art Show.
FADLs long standing Art & Exhibitions Committee is excited to host a special Opening Reception at the library on Wednesday, May 28, starting at 5:00 pm. There will be free refreshments offered by the Friends of the Ferndale of the Ferndale Library and live music performed by a local educator (albeit outside the district), using a nifty modular analog synthesizer! The library’s Art Committee and Ferndale Art Teachers will have a brief talk and Q&A with the audience at 6:00 pm.
Artists in All Grade Levels (1-12) will have works in a variety of mediums on hung in the Ferndale Library, installed just before the end of the school year, with the exhibition on display throughout the month of June. Ferndale Schools’ Art Teachers Curated an impressive collection of the best works created by FPS students during the 2024-2025 academic school year!
The library’s Art & Exhibitions Committee, meanwhile, has been in existence since 2012, with an ongoing mission of promoting and fostering appreciation of two and three-dimensional art for library patrons through a variety of programming, including exhibitions, lectures, and unique art installations. The Committee had previously partnered with FPS teachers to host a student art show on several occasions and is excited for this upcoming opportunity.Join us at our Opening Reception to celebrate these talented young artists!
