WB I-696 in Oak Park Area Reopens

Oak Park, MI – WB I-696 has reopened from I-75 to M-10, earlier than the scheduled Monday, 5/19 date. The Church Street bridge demo for the WB side began Friday, May 9 and crews completed that side of the bridge earlier than expected. Crews are still doing demo on the EB side of the bridge but the eastbound side of 696 remains closed until late 2026.

During the closure, crews also did repair work on bridges west of the Church Street plaza.
