Oxford Township Board Seeks Applicants to Fill Vacancy
(Oxford Township, April 16, 2025)
Oxford, MI – The Oxford Twp. Board has accepted the resignation of Trustee Jeffrey Omtvedt. Elected in November 2024, Omtvedt resigned “due to a personal matter.”
The Township is now seeking applicants to fill the vacant trustee seat. The deadline to apply is 4 p.m. Wednesday, May 7.
Those interested in applying must submit a resume and letter of interest to the township clerk’s office at 300 Dunlap Rd. Applications must be made in person. No emails, please. The clerk’s office is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. (Please note: The township hall will be closed for Good Friday on April 18.)
Applicants must be at least 18 years old, an Oxford Township or Oxford Village resident for at least 30 days and a registered voter.
Interviews are scheduled to take place during the Wednesday, May 14 township board meeting. The board could appoint someone to fill the vacancy at that meeting.
Whoever is appointed will serve until the Nov. 3, 2026 midterm election. The remainder of the unexpired trustee term (Nov. 4, 2026 to Nov. 20, 2028) will be filled by the highest vote-getter in that election.
