April 26 – Oakland County Sheriff’s Office Hosting Conversation on Community Policing in Highland
Highland Township, MI – Oakland County Sheriff’s Office is hosting a Community Policing and Educational event focusing on breaking down the barriers of ideology and misinformation to rebuild the network of trust between law enforcement and communities.
Attendees will meet with OCSO staff and discuss advances in responding to a mental health crisis, deescalation, and peer support. Attendees will also be able to “train” using law enforcement technology including Community Outreach Driving Simulator and APEX Officer VR simulator.
The event takes place at Cornerstone Church of Highland at 4995 N. Hickory Ridge Road in Highland in conjunction with the Community Foundation and Cornerstone Church. Event is April 26, 2025 from 1-3pm
