OC Restaurant Quest: Camp Ticonderoga in Troy
(Crystal A. Proxmire, March 26, 2025)
Troy, MI – For a lovely meal in a lodge-like setting, I recently visited Camp Ticonderoga in Troy. Located next to the Sylvan Glen Golf Course, Camp Ticonderoga has sporty views and a beautiful rustic atmosphere adorned with nods to the hunting life. There are mounted animal heads, chandeliers made of antlers, and even antique rifles adorning the cozy fireplace.
Located between Long Lake Road and Square Lake Road on Rochester, Camp Ticonderoga is named after an Iroquois word meaning “land between two lakes.”
While I waited for my friend to arrive, I sipped on a decadently sweet Peanut Butter Hot Chocolate, made with hot cocoa, Skrewball peanut butter whiskey, whipped cream, chocolate drizzle, and peanut butter chips.
For lunch I had the Potato Chip Walleye with mashed potatoes and green beans. My friend ordered the Maurice salad which is made with lettuce, ham, turkey, Swiss cheese, olives, sweet pickles, an egg, and Maurice dressing. We both loved our meals.
There are many great option on the Camp Ticonderoga menu, including sandwiches like the Brie and Apple Grilled Cheese, the Monte Cristo, the Boom Boom Chicken, and the Reuben.
There are burgers and salads, as well as entrees like the St. Ignace Salmon, Buffaloaf, Filet Mignon, Jerk Chicken Pasta, and Cowboy Mac & Cheese. There is Baked French Onion Soup, Roasted Herbed Redskins, and the Big F’N Pretzel.
Camp Ticonderoga also has a nice selection of interesting drinks. The Fall Down, for example, has caramel vodka, green apple vodka, apple cider, apple juice, and cinnamon sugar.
Camp Ticonderoga is located at 5725 Rochester Road in Troy. Learn more at https://campticonderoga.com
