OC Restaurant Quest: Taylor’s Tavern in Holly – Soon to be Famous!

Holly, MI – A local Holly bar underwent a makeover last year as part of the Paramount TV Show Bar Rescue, with the episode expected to air March 30. Previously called Backroads Bar and Grill, Taylor’s Tavern emerged from the harsh process of transformation by host Jon Taffer with a new menu and some new features for their 15217 Apollo Dr location, just off Grange Hall Road in Holly.
A friend and I visited recently for a lunch meeting. While there is a new menu, many of the items weren’t available on the day we went. But we enjoyed our smash burgers and thick-cut fries. They also offer up traditional bar food favorites like fried mushrooms, chicken strips, chicken sandwiches, flat breads, and fish and chips.
The bar itself is the main attraction, along with a stage for local bands and room with pool tables. Dark paint and purple lighting set the tone for an atmosphere of revelry and rock n’ roll on busy concert nights. Taylor herself, daughter of the owners, can often be found behind the counter serving up smiles along with affordably prices adult beverages.
A watch party for the episode is scheduled for 10pm on Sunday, March 30 at Taylor’s Tavern.
A Facebook post announces they are taking reservations. There is no website for Taylor’s Tavern, but those interested in attending can call (248) 328-9175 to secure a seat.
