OC Restaurant Quest: Quan Nem Ngon Vietnamese Bistro in Madison Heights
(Crystal A. Proxmire, orig. Oct. 9, 2019)
Madison Heights, MI- Just enjoying the various Vietnamese restaurants in Madison Heights could be a months-long task, but a recent visit to Quan Nem Ngon Vietnamese Bistro has put them at the top of my list thus far.
Located at 30701 Dequindre, Quan Nem Ngon has a clean, bright space with ample seating and food that is rather impressive.
My friend and I started with an appetizer of Bo Tai Chanh (#9), which is slices of rare beef atop a lime juice salad that was primarily thinly sliced, marinated onions. With the jalapeno lime juice dressing, this dish had a nice fiery taste to it.
While they opted for hot green tea, I had the durian smoothie (#131).
For the main course my friend had the #25, Pho Tai Nam – a delicious pho soup with thin beef slices. I had the #54, Mi Ga Xoi Mo. This is a dish of stir-fried egg noodles and veggies, topped with a leg and thigh of roasted chicken.
Everything was made fresh and with care, and I will definitely be back.
