Auburn Hills City Manager Tom Tanghe Named MME Executive of the Year

Auburn Hills, MI – At the Michigan Municipal Executives (MME) Winter Institute in Bay City, MI, Thomas A. Tanghe was honored with the 2025 Executive of the Year Award. MME is a professional organization that serves a membership of city, village, township, and county managers across Michigan. This award recognizes an MME member who has made significant contributions to local government management in the past year.
Tom has been active in the public sector for 35 years. He came to the City of Auburn Hills in 2001 as Assistant City Manager and Director of Human Resources and Labor Relations. He was appointed City Manager in 2014. Prior to his work in Auburn Hills, Tom served as the Assistant City Administrator for Lathrup Village, MI, and as the Executive Director of the Downtown Development Authority in Southfield, MI.
