One Day Closure of W. Nine Mile in Ferndale for Banner Cable Repair

Ferndale, MI – On Friday 12/13, both banner cable areas will be repaired. The cables for the banner signs are located on West Nine Mile at Woodward and Livernois.
These repairs will require two separate areas of West Nine Mile to be closed at different times so the cables can be repaired that hold the banner across over the road. * The following time frames are estimated and can change without notice
NO PARKING on West Nine Mile on Friday, 12/13 during this scheduled repair. You will see no parking signs on West Nine Mile Street parking spaces from Woodward to Allen and Planavon to Livernois to accommodate the following temporary closure.
Section [1] from around 8 am to approximately 11 am on Friday 12/13 crews will be closing West Nine Mile from Woodward to Allen. The entire road will need to be closed because they will need to drape a new cable from pole to pole, then slowly tension it up.
Barricades will be deployed at the following locations:
- Allen and West Nine Mile directly turn South on Allen.
- Woodward preventing south Woodward traffic from turning West onto Nine Mile.
- Woodward median preventing through traffic from East Nine Mile.
- Withington alley as well as the alley next to The Orchid from West Nine Mile to West Troy.
Section [2] from around 10 am to approximately 1 pm on Friday 12/13 crews will close West Nine Mile from Planavon to Livernois. The entire road will need to be closed because they will need to drape a new cable from pole to pole, then slowly tension it up.
Barricades will be deployed at the following locations:
- Livernois to prevent eastbound traffic on West Nine Mile.
- Planavon and West Nine Mile. West bound traffic from Woodward or Allen will be forced North on to Planavon.
- Farmdale will be closed at West Nine Mile.
- Barricades at all the businesses entrances from Livernois to Planavon
