Video: Polar Bear Swimming and Playing with Barrel at Detroit Zoo

Royal Oak, MI – The Detroit Zoo is home to many magnificent animals, including two polar bears who spend their days in the zoo’s “Arctic Ring of Life.”
On a recent visit I got to see one of the polar bears up close thanks to the underwater viewing tunnel in the habitat. The gigantic creature played with a huge plastic barrel, batting it and chasing it while swimming with remarkable grace. It’s so fun catching animals in moments of joy like this.
