Royal Oak, MI – The Detroit Zoo is an amazing place to visit, any time of the year.
Located at 8450 W 10 Mile Rd, this has over 2,000 animals living in the 125 acre park.
Among the habitats are the National Amphibian Conservation Center, The Arctic Ring of Life with polar bears and otters, the Polk Penguin Conservation Center, and The Wildlife Interpretive Gallery which includes a butterfly room and an aviary featuring numerous tropical birds. Other animals include beautiful pink flamingos, an adorable baby chimpanzee, a bald eagle with a broken wing, lions. lemurs, and a new pelican habitat.
We also got to see workers putting up the holiday lights for the upcoming Wild Lights events.
Here are pictures from our recent visit.
