Nov 30 – Dec 15 – Holly Dickens Festival Weekends
Holly, MI – Celebrating over 50 years, the Holly Dickens Festival is the longest running of its kind, and completely organized by local volunteers of all ages who bring Holly to life every holiday season welcoming thousands of people from all over Michigan, the country and even the world. Take a step back into Charles Dickens, A Christmas Carol, as we celebrate the holiday season over three individual weekends beginning the day after Thanksgiving.
During this festival you can stroll the streets of historic Battle Alley with Ebenezer Scrooge, visit unique shops filled with local artists, antique and unique gift items, or dine in at one of our local restaurants either in our historic downtown or make your way up Saginaw St thru mid-town to up-town Holly.
On any of the three weekends you can fill your senses with smell of roasting chestnuts and hot coffee from Battle Alley Coffee, while you warm yourself by the fire. Lose yourself in the music of Christmas carolers, the wonder of street magicians and our chimney sweeps, the joy of holiday colors and lights; the warmth of Holly greeting you on every corner.
This winter festival brings economic stimulus to our small community in northwest Oakland County. Beginning on Friday night, the day after Thanksgiving, with a Lighted Parade down our main street to our Community Christmas Tree Lighting, the Holly Dickens Festival has something for everyone to celebrate, but for the kids It starts with meeting Santa in Tiny Tim’s Children’s tent, catching a ride on Santa’s Train that waits just outside by the Snow Hill, ready always for sledding fun for all ages.
Fundraisers organized by the Dickens Festival planning committee include the Dr. Laura Legant Memorial Fund. The Holly Dickens Festival Dr. Laura Legant Memorial Fund is a scholarship fund for the youth of the Holly Area pursuing an education in the Arts.
