Royal Oak Schools to Have Three Returning Board Members, Plus One Newly Elected

Royal Oak, MI – Royal Oak Schools is pleased to announce the newly elected members of its Board of Education following the recent election. We extend our gratitude to all community members who participated in the election, demonstrating their commitment to the future of our schools. A special thank you is also extended to all candidates who ran.
The elected board members are:

Erika Alexander – Re-elected for her second four-year term.

Timothy J. Ciechorski – Re-elected to serve a second four-year term.

Maryanne VanHaitsma – Re-elected for her third term and currently serving as Board President.

Matt Wickey – Elected to fill an open seat on the Board.
Each of these individuals brings valuable experience and dedication to the role, and they join the Board in their shared mission of continuing excellence at Royal Oak Schools. Together, they will work alongside current Board members to uphold the district’s mission to foster an inclusive, diverse, safe, and student-first environment. This aligns with our commitment to developing growth-minded students who are equipped to adapt to a dynamic world.
