OC Restaurant Quest: Troy Kabob
(Crystal A. Proxmire, Nov. 3, 2024)
Tory, MI – Simple. Fast. Delicious. These are all words that describe Troy Kabob. I recently got carryout from this cozy restaurant which is on Livernois just south of Long Lake Road. I tried a few of their items in my quest to try every restaurant in Oakland County.
Though several items were tempting, I felt given the name that I should go for the chicken kabob. With nice thick squares of buttery soft chicken, an ample serving of rice and other goodies like pickled veggies, tzatziki sauce and potato stew, this dish was beautiful and balanced. I especially loved the grilled onion and tomato, which is a nice touch adding flavor and visual appeal.
In addition to the kabob, I ordered hummus and grape leaves. These also were made with quality ingredients and care.
Troy Kabob has a small, but intentional menu of Middle Eastern dishes made with lamb, beef, or chicken including shawrma, kofta, cream chop, and wraps for those on the go. Meats can also be purchased by the pound.
Troy Kabob is located at 4977 Livernois Road. Order online at https://www.troykabob.com/
