Oakland County Sheriff’s Office Collecting Coats for the Cold at Multiple Locations
(OSCO, Nov. 11, 2024)
Help keep Oakland County warm this winter. Donations for the annual Coats for the Cold coat drive are being accepted Nov. 1-30. Sponsored by the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office, gently used or new coats can be dropped off at one of the drop-off sites around Oakland County. Donated coats will be sent to local charitable organizations that distribute the coats to community members in need.
The Coats for the Cold coat drive is sponsored by the Sheriff’s Office, in partnership with 1-800-Self-Storage.com, Real Estate One/Max Broock Realtors, McKenzie Moving and Delivery Service, Genisys Credit Union, and many other community organizations around Oakland County. 1-800-Self-Storage.com provides the boxes for coat drop-off sites around the county. Local Real Estate One and Max Broock Realtors offices, and all the Genisys Credit Union branches throughout Oakland County also serve as drop-off sites.
There are volunteer opportunities available for individuals wishing to help with the coat drive. To sign up, please click here. If you would like to become a drop-off site or volunteer for Coats for the Cold, please contact Mandy Ford at fordal@oakgov.com or sign up to become a drop-off site here.
