Oakland Family Services Opens Royal Oak Location, Offering Mental Health Services
Royal Oak, MI – October 22, 2024 – Oakland Family Services (OFS), a leading nonprofit human services organization headquartered in Pontiac, Mich., recently opened a new office located at 26862 Woodward Ave., Suite 103, in Royal Oak.
The office was located in Berkley but moved to Royal Oak to increase accessibility of treatment services, particularly in the face of a national mental health crisis and therapist shortage. The new 2,853-square-foot office is fully ADA-compliant and situated along a bus line, providing a greater ease of access for all community members. The space enhances OFS’ ability to provide vital mental health and substance use disorder treatment, offering a more welcoming environment for clients and staff. OFS recently hired additional therapists to meet the growing demand for mental health support and is accepting new clients.
The Royal Oak office currently has eight Day One therapists and nine Specialized Services for Youth staff members. Day One therapists provide mental health treatment services for individuals ages 4 and up.
The Specialized Services for Youth program treats children and adolescents, ages 0-21, living with severe emotional, behavioral, or psychological stress, and supports their families.
“The demand for accessible and comprehensive mental health services in Metro Detroit has never been more urgent. As our community continues to face economic, social, and public health challenges, mental well-being is critical to our collective resilience,” said Jaimie Clayton, president and CEO of OFS. “The move to a new office in Royal Oak will allow us to help more clients.”
With over a century of service, OFS continues its mission to strengthen families and individuals through comprehensive mental health, education, and prevention programs.
