OC Restaurant Quest: White Lake Brunch Ham and Corned Beef

White Like, MI – On the west side of Oakland County there’s a small diner with one row of booths and a row of counter seating where guests can enjoy a darn good breakfast. The big sign says ham and corned beef and it looks like White Lake Brunch was added as an afterthought. But whichever name you use, locals know this is a great spot for some classic comfort food.
I had the breakfast egg wrap. It comes with a choice of meats, and in honor of the name I got the ham, which was the nice thick kind cut into cubes. The veggies inside were fresh and perfectly diced as well, with a generous amount of egg and cheese in a flour wrap, served with hash browns that were the perfect mix of crispy outsides, soft insides, and a little on the greasy side which makes them an indulgence.
I also ordered oatmeal with blueberries and walnuts. This came with a little cup of brown sugar to mix in. They also asked if I wanted milk, but I declined. I love the way restaurant oat meal is so thick and creamy, and the way the flavor of the warm blueberries just melts right in.
White Lake Brunch has a number of breakfast and lunch choices, including their popular corned beef hash. But there are other meats for breakfast too, like the eggs and pork chop, eggs and chopped sirloin, and chicken breast with eggs.
Omelettes come in a nice variety, including spinach and feta, grilled chicken and veggie, and the club with turkey, ham, tomatoes, bacon and Swiss. There are waffles, pancakes, and French toast, biscuits and gravy and more.
For lunch one might enjoy a sandwich or a wrap. For example there’s a cold turkey sandwich, tuna salad pita, grilled ham and cheese, corned beef and Swiss, Philly steak sandwich and more. There are also salads and coney items.
