OC Restaurant Quest: Taza Mediterranean Grill in Southfield

Southfield, MI – The quest to try every restaurant in Oakland County continues with a visit to Taza Mediterranean Grill at 12 Mile and Greenfield in Southfield.

This staple for quick, fresh carry outs says their goal is to “serve delicious meals made from the heart.”

They also seem to aim for giant portions, with my selections being perfect for leftovers for a few meals.

I ordered the classic Chicken Shawarma dinner, which came with an ample amount of seasoned chicken atop a bed of flavorful Mediterranean rice, with sides of hummus and garlic sauce, as well as a salad to go with it, and pita bread. I also ordered some grilled veggies to add some healthy vitamins and varied flavors to the meal. I was impressed by the thick bites and the variety of vegetables in the mix, including carrot, zucchini, peppers, onions, and cauliflower.

Everything tasted amazing, and after some initial bites I ended up mixing everything together like a giant healthy salad.

I also ordered which is a parfait style dessert with layers of fruit including peaches and bananas in a thick fruitty juice topped with Lebanese ashta cream and chopped pistachio.

Taza has other Mediterranean inspired dishes, including the falafel platter, the Lebanese burger, chicken ghallaba, Greek gyro platter, fattoush salad and more. Another popular item is the Taza Fries, topped with grilled chicken, coleslaw, pickles, (halal) turkey bacon, BBQ sauce, house sauce, garlic aioli. Wraps and sandwiches also make for convenient meals.
