Fire Damages Wolverine Machine & Screwshop in Holly

Holly, MI – At 9:28 am today, Multiple 911 callers reported heavy smoke coming from the roof area of the large single story commercial building located on Cogshall Dr. in the Village of Holly.
Holly Police and Fire units responded and secured the area as Holly Fire personnel entered the structure and began fire suppression.
Holly FD was assisted by multiple Fire Departments with equipment and personnel, including NOCFA, Fenton City, as well as Groveland, Springfield, Brandon, Independence, White Lake and Grand Blanc Township departments.
Firefighters were able to quickly contain and extinguish the fire.
A fire investigator was requested to the scene as standard practice. There is not a determination yet as to the cause of the fire, but fire officials state it does not appear suspicious.
No one was inside the building before the fire started and no one from the business or members of the public were harmed. One firefighter from an assisting agency suffered a non-life-threatening injury battling the blaze.
Holly Fire Chief Jeremy Watson thanked the public who quickly reported seeing smoke which allowed for a fast response, allowing for minimal overall structural damage, and for the assisting agencies at the scene.
Holly police and fire units are still on scene to ensure security and to eliminate any hot spots that could reignite. Cogshall Drive has been reopened to vehicular traffic.
