Aug 6 Election Results Across Oakland County

Oakland County, MI – Voters had their say in the Aug. 6 Primary, with complete results being available on the Oakland County Clerk’s website.
Here are some of the races we’ve been following. Results are “unofficial” until certified.
In the race for US Senator, Democrat Elissa Slotkin will be facing Republican Mike Rogers in the Nov. 5 election.
In the race for Congress in the 10th District there were several Democrats running in the primary, and Carl J. Marlinga earned the majority of votes, so he will be facing Republican John James in November.
In the 11th Congressional District Republican Nick Somberg won in the primary and will be facing Democrat Haley Stevens in November.
In the race for 14th District State Rep, current state Rep Mike McFall won in the primary against former Warren Mayor James Fouts, and will face Republican Barbara Barber in November.
In the 20th District the Republican Primary was won by Brendan Cowley, who will face Democratic incumbent Noah Arbit in November.
In District 55, Trevis Harrold won the Democratic Primary, and will face Republican Mark Tisdel in November.
In the race for County Commissioner for the 3rd District, Democrat Ann Erickson Gault won the Primary, and will face Republicna Douglas K. MacLean in November.
In County Commission District 10 Democrat Kristen Nelson won the Primary and will face Republican Gregg Marinnelli in the November election.
In the race for Judge of 6th Circuit Court, Tricia Dare got the most votes with 79,608 and Nicole Huddleston got 45,469. Both will move on to the November 5 election.
In Pontiac voters elected to adopt a new City Charter, with 3,084 in favor and 1,261 opposed.
In Troy councilperson Hirak Chanda was voted in to retain his seat through Nov 2027, besting opponent Ed Ross with a vote of 6,765 to 6,045.
In the race for Commerce Township Supervisor, Republican Larry Gray won the primary and has no Democrat on the ballot to face in November.
In Groveland Township Republican Kevin Scramlin won the primary, with no Democratic opponent in November.
In Oakland Township, Republican Robin Buxar had opposition for the Supervisor position. She won the primary with 1113 vote to James Komendera’s 1031 votes. There is no Democratic opposition on the ballot in November.
In Orion Township Julia Dalrymple won the Republican Primary for Township Clerk, and has no Democratic competition on the ballot in November. And in the Orion Township Treasurer’s race Republican Matt Pfeiffer won with 2124 votes over Penny Shults who had 2016 votes. There is no Democratic opposition on the November ballot.
In Rose Township, Republican Brad Stilwell won the primary with 761 votes over incumbent Dianne Scheib-Snider who got 406 votes. There is no Democratic opposition in November.
