OC Restaurant Quest: Rainbow Restaurant in Farmington

Farmington, MI – The quest to try every restaurant in Oakland County continues with a visit to Farmington for carryout from Rainbow Restaurant. Rainbow has Chinese and Szechuan favorites, including the indulgent pepper steak that I ordered. With nice big chunks of bell pepper and onions in a rich brown broth, served with fried rice and an egg roll, this was a great meal.
I also ordered the sauteed green beans that had a slightly garlic flavor and came with white rice. This generous portion of beans was great for having leftovers.
Rainbow Restaurant has a nice selection of Chinese dishes, including chope suey, egg foo young, lo mein dishes, and rice dishes.
Among their selections are garlic ribs, kung po shrimp, and Szechuan chicken. The curry chicken offers a bold spicy flavor, while the lemon chicken has a more citrus tone.
Appetizers include steamed dumplings, fried shrimp, crab rangoon, and a few varieties of egg roll.
