OC Restaurant Quest: Joe Kool’s in Troy and Brighton

Brighton, Troy, MI – Joe Kool’s has everything it needs to be a thriving sports bar – an easy location, a nice big bar with a bunch of booths all around it, TVs, tons of Michigan beer on tap, and a menu with options to satisfy many tastes.
I ordered the Asiago Chicken which came drowning in a rich, creamy, house-made sauce of Asiago Parmsean cream, bacon, spinach, mushrooms and roasted red peppers. It was served with rice and broccoli, both of which soaked up the extra sauce perfectly.
I also got a Michigan Salad, topped with dried Michigan cherries, tomatoes, walnuts, and crumbled bleu cheese with a raspberry dressing. The salad was fresh and delicious, with just the right amount of crunchy nutty flavor in the midst of the creamy cheese and tart tones of the dressing.
Last, but certainly not least, and technically I ate it first, was the Hot Fudge Ice Cream Puff. Obviously this was a delightful dessert.
Joe Kool’s has a nice selection of burgers and sandwiches, like the Rock n’ Rye Rodeo Burger topped with smoked bacon, onion rings, cheddar, lettuce, tomato, red onion, and Rock-n-Rye BBQ sauce. Other choices include Albacore Tuna Melt, Santa Fe Wrap, Tree Hugger Veggie Burger, Baja Turkey Burger, Tex Mex Burger and more.
For entrees patrons might enjoy Fajitas, Fettuccine Alfredo, and Lake Erie Perch. Plus they also have pizza and salads.
