Pedestrian Seriously Injured on Woodward, Police Seek Help Identifying Him
On July 11, 2024, at approximately 5:15 a.m. the Bloomfield Township Police Department received multiple calls on a pedestrian walking in the left lane of northbound Woodward near Big Beaver Road.
Officers were dispatched to the area, but before they arrived Bloomfield Township received a 911 call that the pedestrian had been struck by a motor vehicle.
The pedestrian was transported to Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital, Royal Oak. He is currently on a ventilator and listed in serious condition. The driver of the motor vehicle called 911, remained on scene, and is cooperating with the investigation.
Members of the South Oakland County Crash Investigation Team (SOCCIT) were called to respond to the scene to assist with the investigation. This crash is still under investigation.
The pedestrian is a black male in his 30’s, approximately 5’9”, described as thin build.
