Seven Apply For Lake Orion School Board Vacancy, Interviews July 10

Lake Orion, MI – The Lake Orion Community Schools Board of Education will hold a special meeting on July 10 to fill the current vacancy. The vacancy is due to the death of Board Member Steve Drakos.
Seven community members applied to fill the vacant seat and serve into November, when the general Board of Education election is certified.
The Board will meet on July 10, interview the candidates, deliberate and appoint the new Board member that evening.
The new Board member will be publicly sworn in at the special meeting on July 17.
Below is the tentative interview schedule for the July 10 special meeting.
6:05 p.m. – Nate Butki
6:30 p.m. – Scott Hill
6:55 p.m. – Shawn Wayne
7:20 p.m. – Mark Torres
7:45 p.m. – Jeff Faber
8:10 p.m. – Scott Horning
8:35 p.m. – Joel Cole
