OC Restaurant Quest: CJ’s Upper Deck in Waterford

Waterford, MI – The quest to try every restaurant in Oakland County continues with a sandwich showdown at CJ’s Upper Deck in Waterford. It was a hard choice between between the Southern Fried Chicken and the Waffle Burger. So I got both.
The Southern Fried Chicken features a thick breaded piece of chicken with just a little bit of a kick, plus lots of crispy pickles and chipotle aioli on a brichoe bun. This was an impressively hulky handheld was a great chicken sandwich.
But even more impressive was the Waffle Burger, a creation that starts with pearl sugar waffles for buns, an 8oz beef patty, fried bacon, a fried egg, arugula, chipotle aioli, and maple syrup. This was a delicious mess of a sandwich that mixed sweet, salty, and fatty flavors all in one ridiculously good burger.
CJ’s has other meals that put regular bar food to shame, like pulled pork sliders, short rib french dips, veggie wraps, short rib linguine, chicken picatta and several other options. There are housemade salads, soups, and pizzas.
