OC Restaurant Quest: Gran Castor in Troy

Troy, MI – The quest to try every restaurant in Oakland County continues with a visit to Gran Castor in Troy. Gran Castor serves up Latin-inspired fare, in a warm, comfortable, fun environment.
I decided to try the Elote Pizza, which was an experience to enjoy. This flavorful pie is made with roasted garlic butter, grilled corn, a blend of cheeses, queso fresco, Peruvian green chili sauce, cilantro, and chili dusted crust. So many tastes in one dish made this pizza amazing, with just a little bit of tongue-tingling in the process.
I also checked black bean and quinoa salad, which is mainly beans with some sweet pepper, scallions, lime juice, and fresh dill. This was a great healthy option with the right amount of flavor to it.
And for dessert I had their house made donuts, which are made fresh to order and come served with spiced Mexican chocolate and salted caramel to dip them in. Obviously these were great.
Other menu options include chicken tortilla sopa, a variety of rice bowls, and tacos, as well as enchiladas blancas. Gran Castor also serves up Latin-themed drinks like the Chili Fresas made with Strawberry IOA, lime juice, simple syrup and chili lime shrub. There’s also the blood orange pineapple margarita, and craft cocktails like the bad hombre, the painkiller, and the Benny Mardones.
