Motorcyclist Killed in Crash in Farmington Hills

Farmington Hills, MI – On June 18, 2024, at approximately 10 p.m., the Farmington Hills Police Department responded to the intersection of Eight Mile Road and Grand River Avenue on a report of a crash involving a motorcycle and a Ford Explorer.
Officers arrived on scene, located the rider of the motorcycle, and immediately rendered aid until firefighter/paramedics from the Farmington Hills Fire Department arrived and took over care. The motorcycle rider, later identified as a 32-year-old male, resident of Redford Township, was transported to Corewell Hospital Farmington Hills, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The driver of the Ford Explorer, identified as a 21-year-old male resident of Novi, remained on scene, and cooperated with investigators. The driver was released from the scene pending further investigation.
Alcohol or drugs are not believed to have been a factor in the crash. The investigation did reveal that the driver of the motorcycle was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
