June 8 – Farmington SAFE Hosting Community Conversation on Human Trafficking
Farmington Hills, MI -Farmington SAFE (Suicide Awareness For Everyone) partners with CARES in Farmington Hills to present a Community Conversation on human trafficking and protecting our community.
The event will be held from 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM. on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at the CARES Campus located at 27835 Shiawassee Road, Farmington Hills.
This Community Conversation, as with all Farmington SAFE events, is sponsored by the nonprofit Graham E. Smith Memorial Fund. Resources from local mental health providers organizations will also be available. A light lunch will be available at 11:30 and the expert presentations will begin around noon with panel discussion and Q&A.
Expert presenters will include:
~Tehmina Shakir, MD, psychiatrist and educator, on child trafficking and mental health.
~Ms. Elaine Grohman, Integrative medicine energy healer, on trusting your feelings, situational awareness.
~Jeff King, FH Police Chief, on risks and law enforcement recommendations and resources.
With a theme of “Let’s Talk About It,” Farmington SAFE brings together community members, leaders, and mental health experts to remove the stigma surrounding depression and provide a connection to available resources.
Anyone interested in getting involved is welcome to attend Farmington SAFE meetings at 6 p.m. on the second Thursday of each month at Farmington Hills City Hall.
