OC Restaurant Quest: Mochi Sushi in Waterford

Waterford, MI – The quest to try every restaurant in Oakland County led to a meal at Mochi Sushi on M-59 in Waterford.
I picked two rolls and an appetizer to test them out, starting with the amazing Beef Asparagus. This adorable starter had succulent strips of beef wrapped quaintly around crispy asparagus with a flavorful brown sauce, garnished with sliced green onion and sesame seed.
I also enjoyed the Sweet Potato Tempura roll, featuring breaded and fried bites of sweet potato inside a blanket of sushi rice.
And lastly was the Philadelphia Roll, with melt-in-your-mouth smoked salmon, cream cheese and avocado.
The website does not say much about this restaurant, though they do have easy online ordering. There are a number of sushi, sashimi, and nigiri choices, including the Crunchy California Rolll, Spicy Scallop Roll, Mackerel (Saba) Nigiri, Escolar White Tuna Nigiri, Flying Fish (Tobiko) Sashimi and more.
They also make Korean entrees like Hot Stone Bibimbap, Bulgogi Dinner, Chicken Katsu, and a variety of Hibachi platters. Guests might also enjoy fried rice and noodle dishes.
For dessert, Mochi Sushi has Tempura Cheese Cake and Tempura Banana on the menu.
