Independence Oaks Offering Archery Classes and Range Time

Clarkston, MI- Give archery a try at Independence Oaks County Park! Archery is a great way to build strength and improve concentration. It boosts hand-eye coordination, enhances upper body strength and increases confidence.
Two upcoming programs are designed to introduce archery newcomers to the basics while providing those more familiar with the sport an opportunity to improve their technique.
Archery 101
Archery 101 is scheduled from 10 a.m.-noon May 11. Archery facilitators will be on site to provide basic archery instruction and shooting time. This program is recommended for ages 8 and older. Archery Classes
Six-week beginner and intermediate archery instruction is offered for all ages/abilities during spring and summer. Each class has a specific focus with drills to refine skills and games to keep archers on their toes. Limited to a maximum of 16 people per session, classes are designed for those ages 8 and older.
Equipment is provided at the range, although those with personal equipment are welcome to use their own. Cost is $75 per session.
Beginner Archery meets from 5:30-6:30 p.m. on Tuesdays as follows:
- Session #1 – May 14, 21, 28 and June 4, 11 and 18
- Session #2 – June 25 and July 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30
- Session #3 – Aug. 6, 13, 20, 27 and Sept. 3 and 10
Intermediate Archery is perfect for those looking to refine their skills and take their game to the next level. This course meets from 4:15-5:15 p.m. on Tuesdays as follows:
- Session #1 – May 14, 21, 28 and June 4, 11 and 18
- Session #2 – June 25 and July 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30
- Session #3 – Aug. 6, 13, 20, 27 and Sept. 3 and 10

Archery range
