Seven Lakes State Park in Holly to Close Weekdays for Construction Projects
(Oakland County Times, May 7, 2024)
Holly, MI – Seven Lakes State Park is expected to close on weekdays beginning at the end of May or beginning of June, according to posts on their Facebook Page.
The first post stated:
As some of you know, Seven Lakes is going to be undergoing a major renovation this year… 3 large projects are kicking off very soon:
1. The Campground is getting all new electrical!
2. The Big Seven Shelters are getting torn down and replaced!
and… the one everyone is waiting for:
3. The majority of the roads are going to be re-paved!
Now for the bad news…
1. The Campground will be closed this season.
2. The park will be closed Monday – Friday for construction. Date of first closure is still to be determined, so stay tuned for more updates.
These renovations are being made possible by the American Rescue Plan Act.
They later posted:
We have been receiving a lot of phone calls regarding the upcoming closures.
…As of today, we are still open 7 days a week (campground will be closed the entire season). After talking with the construction manager yesterday, the extremely tentative schedule for the MONDAY-FRIDAY closures will start at the end of May, beginning of June.
We will be open on SAT/SUN for the season. We will relay through this page if we end up having to close on a weekend. Meadow Ridge, Fishermans Cove, and Dickinson Shelters are still available to rent on weekends. If you have already rented a shelter on a SAT/SUN or July 4th, your reservation is still valid.
