OC Restaurant Quest: K Blocks BBQ in Oxford and Washington Twp
Oxford, MI – Though they’ve only been open a couple weeks, K Blocks BBQ is already a social media favorite, with lots of new customers posting their delicious meals.
I joined in warm welcome feels by getting a to go order that was good. I had the Double Trouble, which lets guest pick two meats and two sides – a perfect way to sample the menu. I had the brisket and chicken with mac and cheese and coleslaw.
As the website says, the meats are “cooked low and slow in our Ole Hickory smokers,” giving both choices a distinctly smoky flavor. K Blocks offers a selection of sauces, including the Memphis BBQ, Buffalo, Apple BBQ, and Korean BBQ.
The mac and cheese also seemed to be smoked, and it was topped with breadcrumbs to give it that extra bit of fancy. The coleslaw was crisp and creamy. The meal also came with a cornbread muffin. I also ordered the candied bacon, which was both sweet and spicy.
The K Blocks BBQ menu also includes some interesting appetizers, like Southern Hushpuppies, Pork Rinds & Queso, Brisket Fries, and BBQ Nachos.
In addition to brisket and chicken, they’ve got pork, jalapeno cheddar sausage, burnt ends, and St. Louis style ribs. The meats are also served up in salads and sandwiches.
Sides include fries, pit beans, gramma’s potato salad, chili street corn, and fried okra.
While the Oxford location is new, K Blocks has graced Washington Township since 2019. According to their website, the family owned restaurant was inspired by the proprietors’ father who said the smoked meats were “too good not to share.”
