OC Restaurant Quest: Orion Grill

Orion Township, MI – The quest to try every restaurant in Oakland County continues with a visit to Orion Grill in Orion Township. This bright and friendly family restaurant has delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner options.
I opted for breakfast, and actually had two visits. The first time I went I had the avocado toast, because that’s something I’ve never written about before and figured it would be fun. And it was, because they put a lot of care into making it interesting. This was hearty multi-grain toast with slices of avocados, fried eggs, goat cheese, and tomatoes drizzled with balsamic glaze. I added a side of sausage and the whole thing made for a well-rounded, energizing breakfast.
But I had to go back and order the pineapple parfait on a different visit. With this they slice a fresh pineapple in half to create the bowl and load it up with fresh cut fruits, vanilla yogurt, granola, and chia seeds, with honey drizzled on top. The fruit was beautifully fresh and the presentation made it a cheerful way to get in a healthy breakfast.
I also got a half order of biscuits and gravy, which had a fluffy biscuit soaked with rich and delicious gravy with chunks of sausage in it.
Orion Grill has a number of breakfast selections, including cinnamon raisin French toast, s’mores waffles, and combinations of eggs and meat.
There are breakfast crepes – including savory crepes with spinach, mushroom, Swiss and hollandaise sauce. There are also a number of omelettes and skillets. The chicken delight skillet has egg whites, chicken, tomatoes, onion, spinach, and goat cheese. And the dragon skillet has ham, onions, jalapenos, Swiss, red pepper seeds, and Monterey jack cheese. There’s even a Philly steak and cheese omelette with green peppers, mushrooms, and onions.
Orion Grill also serves lunch and dinner. On the menu are several burger choices, including a turkey Swiss burger and a plant-based Beyond burger. They also have chicken pot pie, New York strip steak, chicken kabob, spaghetti with meat sauce, and salads like the salmon salad or crispy chicken.
