OC Restaurant Quest: Meshico Tacos and Tequila

Rochester Hills, MI – The quest to try every restaurant in Oakland County continues with a visit to Meshico Tacos and Tequila in Rochester Hills for a modern take on Mexican favorites.
The chicken chimichanga was a hearty meal that included a choice of sides, in this we went with black beans and cilantro lime rice – both of which were lightly seasoned and good. The chimichanga is a fried flour tortilla, Mexican cheese, refried beans, onion, guacamole, sour cream made with a choice of chicken, ground beef chorizo, or vegan chorizo. I opted for the chicken and was impressed by the quality and flavor of the meal.
Mesicho is also known for their creative selection of street tacos. The Mahi taco was an amazing creation made with Blackened mahi, citrus slaw, pineapple Pico, avocado, and spicy aioli. The Al Pastor is also made with an enchanting mix of ingredients – perfectly cooked grilled pork, grilled pineapple, onion, cilantro, and jalapeno. Other taco choices include the Pollo Asada, Birria, Tinga, Shrimp, Plant-Based Vegan tacos and more.
Another delightful item is the Crooks Street Corn which takes the simplicy of grilled corn on the cob and spices it up with cotija cheese and chili lime crema. There was also fried ice cream for dessert.
Meshico has other options for those who love south of the border fare, including Mexican pizza, botana nachos, fajitas, grilled cactus and more. They are also known for their adult beverages, including cocktails and of course tequila.
