Wixom Road in Novi to Close Through Month of February

Novi, MI – The City of Novi released a statement about an upcoming closure of Wixom road, stating:
“As we continuously seek to improve the infrastructure in Novi, we started the Wixom Road Sanitary Sewer Replacement & Pump Station Improvements Project in July of 2023. Unfortunately, there is a portion of replacement sewer that needs to be installed under Wixom Rd.
As a result, Wixom Road will be closed to through traffic from Birchwoods Drive to Braeburn Lane for about a month starting Monday, February 5, 2024. Kelsey Bay Drive will also be closed to through traffic during this time.
The traffic detour will be 11 Mile Rd. to Beck Rd. to 10 Mile Rd. and vice versa.

Sanitary Sewer Replacement Progress
The sanitary sewer replacement is over halfway complete. The section north of 11 Mile was completed in September 2023. The southern section started in early November 2023 and is ongoing.
We know disruptions like this are difficult and we apologize in advance for the inconvenience this may cause. This is a necessary public health, safety, and welfare project. The sanitary sewer in this area is at capacity and needs rehabilitation and improvement to continue to meet the demands of the surrounding community for sanitary sewage disposal.
This work must be completed ahead of the planned reconstruction of Wixom Rd. this spring.
