Feb 6 – Berkley Library Presentation on Choosing Resilient Trees
NOTE – THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED. THE LIBRARY ANTICIPATES RESCHEDULING IT FOR A FUTURE DATE.
Berkley, MI – Berkley Library is presenting Where the Sidewalk Ends: Choosing Resilient Trees for Tomorrow’s Urban Environments on Feb. 6.
Ash, elm and chestnut trees once were as common in cities as the streets that bear their names. Our tree canopy today is much less diverse due to insects, disease, invasive species and poor species selection. Join Lawrence Sobson, Department of Natural Resources urban forester and partnership coordinator, to discover some ideal urban tree species, learn how to assess urban sites and find out how to ensure the trees you choose can live for the next hundred years. Presented by the Berkley Tree Board. Registration optional at http://berkleylib.evanced.info/signup/calendar.
Tuesday, February 6 at 6:30 p.m.
