OC Restaurant Quest: No. Six Prime in Novi

Novi, MI – The sixth restaurant review of the year brought myself and a friend to No. Six Prime in Novi. This snazzy spot is located inside the Sheridan hotel, making it a perfect place for locals and visitors to the area. With a motto of “comfortable fine dining,” their website says to come in jeans or a suit. “Our Guests feel welcome, they feel catered to, and they feel cared for. They love their meal and the value they get for the price; they come back again and again for the highest quality food and for our unique presentation, but most of all, they come back for the thorough, heartfelt and personal service they receive while dining with us,” which was the experience that we had.
We started with the most amazing Charcuterie Board ever – piled with luxurious slices of meats, mouth-watering olives, sweet fig spread, honey, blackberries, nuts, crackers, and decadent cheeses. For the main course my friend enjoyed the Pan-Seared Ora King Salmon, made with apple cider & horseradish glaze, on a bed of quinoa, topped with julienned apples.
I had the Ribeye steak, done medium. The Prime grade Angus steak was the best I’ve had in my life – perfectly flavored, perfectly cooked, and a nice consistent texture. Plus there was plenty to take home for leftovers.
We shared two side dishes. The first was the Grilled Asparagus with Marona almonds, crispy garlic, and Parmesan cheese. The second was the Prime Mashed Potatoes made with Yukon Golds and roasted garlic. The meal also came with warm fresh baked bread and butter.
There are a number of appetizer choices at No. Six Prime, including Shrimp Cocktail, Oysters Rockefeller, Wild Boar Crepinette, Steak Tartare, and Crispy Calamari. For salads there are a few choices, including the Chophouse Wedge and the Roasted Beet Salad.
The steak selection ranges from high end choices like the Japanese A5 Wagyu, Dry Aged NY Strip, and the Prime Tomahawk to Filet Mignon and Motor City Strip. There are also non-steak entrees like Prime Scallops, Venison Osso Bucco, and Grilled Pork Chop.
