(ONTV, Dec. 17, 2023)
Lake Orion, MI – There are two signature events in Lake Orion to help ring in the holiday season – The Holly Jolly Folly and the Orion Lighted Parade. Orion Neighborhood Television (ONTV) was on hand to capture the fun at both. Stacy Calloway shared news of the events, with Dec. 1 being the Holly Jolly Folly at Golling GMC in Orion Township.
Golling’s Bill Kokenos told viewers “Everybody was excited. All the employees helped out. We did everything we could do. We got a great crowd here tonight, a great band. We’ve got the Lake Orion Choir,” Kokenos said. “We look forward to this day every year.”
For the past 17 years the event has helped raise funds for the lighted parade. Over 400 people attended, enjoying a silent auction, music by Power Play Detroit, and food from Italia Gardens.
The parade itself brought thousands to Downtown Lake Orion to see floats and vehicles adorned with holiday lights. The parade has been an Orion tradition since 1995.
