Vehicle Inside Stellantis North America Catches Fire

Auburn Hills, MI – At 0823 am today, the Auburn Hills Fire Department (AHFD) was dispatched to the 800 block of Chrysler Drive at Stellantis North America for a reported vehicle on fire inside of the building. Fire personnel arrived on scene to find a working vehicle fire in a vehicle storage area on the first floor of the testing center.
Fire crews made entry and found the fire suppression system had activated and contained the fire to the area of origin. Crews extinguished the remaining fire with a combination of dry chemical extinguishers and water.
Building representatives and security personnel on site assisted the fire department with smoke removal and removing the vehicle from the building. Fire personnel from Rochester Hills provided mutual aid at the fire scene. Fire Personnel from Rochester City and Rochester Hills provided fire and EMS backup coverage for the city during the event. Auburn Hills Police Department assisted with obtaining information and securing the scene during the event.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
