Nov 10 – Ferndale Library’s First Stop Friday Concert featuring Dave Boutette & Kristi Lynn Davis
Ferndale, MI – The Ferndale Library’s ongoing local music showcase, First Stop Friday, is excited to announce the upcoming performance by folk music duo Dave Boutette & Kristi Lynn Davis, happening on Friday, November 10 at 7:30 pm.
This free, all-ages concert is hosted after regular library operating hours, inside its spacious program room. While the Ferndale Library regularly closes at 6:00 pm on Fridays, the doors will reopen at 7:30 pm to let music lovers back in for an intimate concert experience, effectively transforming the library into a concert venue for the evening. No registration is required.
The Ferndale Library’s First Stop Friday series is perfect for music fans of all ages, especially anyone who may not always be able to make it out to conventional bars/venues that typically have late-to-much-later start times for their featured performances. It’s also a quieter, intimate setting that allows for the artists to interact a bit more with the audience.
Dave Boutette is a folk singer/songwriter embodying that classic mold of raconteurial troubadour. Drawing comparisons to Woody Guthrie, Bob Dylan, and even a little bit of Tom Waits, Boutette will indeed please fans of all folk styles, whether classic or modern. Kristi Lynn Davis’ natural gift for harmony instantly brought new life to Boutette’s celebrated catalog of songs, as evidenced by their recent releases Easy as Pie and Seven Stars Around the Moon.
Boutette’s songs of highway hijinks and wildcat oil drillers in the Michigan woods are as likely to be heard as old favorites that have been in your head and heart for years. For Boutette and Davis, it’s the sharing of songs that holds all the magic. Click here for more biographical info.
