Nov 3-5 – Nomad Theatricals in Pontiac Present Blithe Spirit
Blithe Spirit, Noel Coward’s comedy of consummate British madcap manners, will be performed by Nomad Theatricals, Oakland County’s newest and most innovative theatre company. Utilizing the beautifully restored Flagstar Strand Theater in Pontiac, MI, performances are November 3, 4, and 5.
Directed and produced by community theater mainstay Bruce Thorburn, the cast includes veteran performers Erica Gunaca as Elvira, Ashley Wickett Lane as Ruth, Patrick Lane as Charles, Brittany Lauren as Madame Arcati, Johannah Steinbrecher-Booker as Mrs. Bradman, Phil Potter as Dr. Bradman, and Tara Makar-DuBuc as Edith.
It’s summertime in Kent, and fussy, cantankerous novelist Charles Condomine is working on his latest book, The Unseen. As part of his research, he and his wife Ruth host a séance with an eccentric medium known as Madame Arcati, and invite their friends to play along. But the evening takes a supernatural turn when Arcati conjures Charles’ deceased first wife Elvira, who doesn’t have plans to leave. A smash comedy hit in London and New York, this much revived, effervescent and hilarious classic from the playwright of Private Lives will delight the audience with its charm, wit, and surprises aplenty.
Tickets are available through the Flagstar Strand Theater box office (12 N. Saginaw St, Pontiac) – at https://nomadtheatricals.org/
