Shaffer and Associates Offering Up Space for Community Groups at 9 and Woodward

Ferndale, MI – As a realtor, JIm Shaffer knows the value of connected communities. That’s why Jim Shaffer and Associates is opening up their new office space at the corner of 9 Mile and Woodward to local nonprofits and community groups at no charge for meetings and events.
The space can hold up to 50 people, though events with over 15 need special approval. There are plenty of comfy places to sit, and work, and even a fridge. Groups who’ve already enjoyed the space include Sparrow Freedom Project, Black Sheep Knitting Guild, Hazel Park Arts Council, and Reading Eagles Bookclub. Jim is hoping more will as well.
“Having grown up in Michigan, I’ve lived in many towns and cities here, but it wasn’t until I found this Woodward Corridor community that I truly felt at home,” Shaffer said. “Because our real estate team is a small local business, we wanted to share this space with other mom-and-pop businesses, nonprofit organizations and neighbors within the surrounding communities. Throughout my time living in this area, I have been a proud supporter and board member of many local organizations, including the Chamber of Commerce, the Ferndale Schools Fine Art boosters, the Brian Miller full moon foundation and others. A common theme of those organizations is a lack of space to meet and collaborate. This community corner will be here for all of us to use and enjoy for many years to come.”
Shaffer and Associates has their main office in Downtown Royal Oak, but recently added the 9 and Woodward location. “When that location came up for lease it was a no brainer for us. Ferndale has always been our hub and where I got my start in Real Estate. We are so involved with the Ferndale community that this prime space was destined to be ours. Everyone knows where the spot is too. So it’s a very easy location to have people coming together,” he said.
