Lathrup Village Seeking Online Donations for Municipal Park Renovation
(Crystal A. Proxmire, Oct. 5, 2023)
Lathrup Village, MI – The City of Lathrup Village is working with Main Street Oakland County and the Lathrup Village DDA to raise funds for a renovation of Municipal Park and some improvements to the City Hall property.
There is a Patronicity campaign to raise the funds. On the site it explains “For our small community, Lathrup Village City Hall and Municipal Park serve as our first impression and main gathering space. As a focal point for the community, these areas should be in tip-top condition. While City Hall and Municipal Park might look good driving up or down Southfield Road, a closer looks reveals that it definitely could use a little TLC.
Unfortunately, limited staff and financial resources have hampered those efforts. To that end, the Lathrup Village Downtown Development Authority (LVDDA), City of Lathrup Village, and Main Street Oakland County have partnered on a Revitalization and Placemaking grant which will allow us to fully renovate the Municipal Park play structure, re-landscape the flowerbeds lining City Hall, and reconstruct the parking lot surrounding the municipal complex.”
They’re down to the final stretch of fundraising, aiming to secure $20,000 in donations to make the plans a reality.
