(Crystal A. Proxmire, Cheryl Tessens, Sept. 12, 2023)
Holly, MI – It was a doggone good day in Downtown Holly as dozens of dogs – and their humans – descended on the historic downtown for some canine-themed adventures. Many pets wore costumes, and some even had their humans match. And they all had fun visiting shops for pooch-themed giveaways and specials.
The Pet Parade was a highlight of the event, as was gathering around the stage to check out dog tricks and a costume contest.
“It was a lot of fun to see all the pets in their costumes. It was even more fun to see how much fun the pet owners were having. There were so many to choose from. The judges really had their work cut out for them,” said photographer Cheryl Tessens.
The event was hosted by Downtown Holly, with donations from Furbaby Boutique, Maher Feed and Pet supply, Pawsitive Care, Monarch Home Design, Battle Alley Coffee and The Vintage Farm House making for perfect puppy prizes.
