Jackson and Grossbard Win Southfield Clerk Primary, Berkley, Clawson, and Novi School Proposals Pass

Oakland County, MI – Results are in for the Aug. 8, 2023 Primary Election.
In the Berkley School District the bond proposal passed with 69.06% of voters in favor of the proposal.
In the Clawson Public School District the school building and site bond proposal passed with 57.48% of voters in favor.
Voters in the Novi Community School District had two measures on the ballot. The operating millage proposal passed with 58.36% in favor. And the millage proposal to provide funds to operate a system of public recreation and playgrounds passed with 65.96% voting yes.
In Southfield there was a primary race for City Clerk. In the four-way primary race, Janet Jackson got 66.05% of the votes, followed by Gabi Grossbard who got 14.46% of the votes. Jackson and Grossbard will face off in the Nov. 7 election.
Not advancing are Barbara Seldon who got 14.37% of the votes, and Jay Reid who got 5.12%. All of the numbers are unofficial results as of 10:30pm Tuesday. Results and other election information can be found at the Oakland County Clerk’s website.
